We are absolutely delighted to announce that Reading FC Women have been invited to officially switch on the Reading Christmas lights this year!
The festive season in Reading officially gets underway on Saturday 14th November, and our players cannot wait to join the community for this fantastic celebration.
This year’s display is uniquely tailored to Reading, featuring a magical installation of over 800,000 LED lights that celebrate our town’s rich culture and heritage – from Huntley & Palmers to Henry I.
Join the festivities
Head down to Broad Street (outside Marks & Spencer) from 12pm for an afternoon packed with festive music, great food and holiday cheer. The Broad Street Christmas Markets will also officially open, offering traditional festive treats, food and drinks to get you in the holiday spirit before the big moment.
Afternoon schedule
- 12:00pm – Live music from Pete Doyle and Dionne
- 2:00pm – A performance by RASPO (Reading’s Steel Orchestra Band)
- 4:00pm – More fantastic music from Danny Mountin
- 5:00pm – The Big Countdown with special guests from the Reading FC Women team!
- 5:15pm – Evening entertainment continues
